Pomegranate Could Help People With Alzheimer's Live Longer

Pomegranates have been linked with a lowered risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease in animal studies, but scientists now say they’ve isolated the reason why.

New research published in the journal ACS Chemical Neuroscienceidentified a particular compound created when the body interacts with pomegranate extract — and researchers think it could help in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

US military: Iraqi soldiers 'killed by friendly fire'

An air strike by the US-led coalition during an offensive against so-called Islamic State (IS) may have killed Iraqi soldiers, the US military said.
"Initial reports indicate the possibility one of the strikes resulted in the death of Iraqi soldiers," the US military said in a statement.
An officer and nine soldiers died or were wounded in the incident, Iraq's joint operations command said.
